What’s Panda?

Panda is an alpha version of the new Editor coming in Bear 2.0. For now, it’s separate from Bear and won’t touch any existing notes. Read on to learn more and let us know what you think!

Improved Markdown experience

Markdown now hides when it’s not being edited, making for a cleaner look and easier read.

Enjoy a more standard and compatible writing experience with our switch to CommonMark.

Nestable styles bring new flexibility to your notes. Add bold to italics in text, or links and tags to headers. Feel free to get creative.

Tables

Yes, you read that right – they're here! For macOS, click the table button in Panda’s toolbar to create a table. Mouse over cells for a menu to manage it.

For iOS, tap the "BIU" button, followed by the table button, and have at it! We even have new table-tailored buttons – check that out in the next section.

New custom keyboard

Voilà! Formatting options are now just a tap away, while secondary menus reveal even more – long press to access.

Oh, and pressing the table button gives you table-tailored buttons!

Resize and crop images

You can now resize images, and even crop them on iOS! Simply add the image, long press on it, then select the option to resize or crop.

Sketch your notes

Tap the sketch button to insert sketches anywhere in your note, inline with your text, photos, and attachments.

Draw with your Apple Pencil or finger, and edit your creations at any time.

Select the options button to access custom backgrounds, the resize button to resize, and even hold on the canvas to create geometric shapes.

Markdown for all

That's right, Markdown support for everyone in the audience!

With right-to-left language support, you can now also write beautifully in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and more.
